Cheryl Ahrens has taught the 3 Morning and 3 Year-Old Afternoon classes for the last five years at AVP. Cheryl received both her BA in Psychology and her Master's Degree in Social Work (with a concentration in Interpersonal Practice with Children, Youth and Families) from the University of Michigan. Prior to having children, Cheryl was a school social worker in an urban elementary school for 5 years. She also has experience teaching young childen in both day care and summer program settings and was a parent coach for the Connections Program in Kent County. Cheryl's three children attended AVP, during which time she volunteered in the classroom and also served on the AVP Board for two years. Cheryl enjoys reading, travel, time outdoors, running, making music and loves spending time with her family most of all.
